The National Democratic Front in Mindanao (NDF-Mindanao) wishes to congratulate and salute the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), as it celebrates its 37th anniversary, today, April 24. We wish to give also our highest honor to all the revolutionary martyrs who unselfishly offered their lives for the greater interest of the Filipino People.
All efforts towards building the people's army and advancing the national democratic revolution to a higher stage!

Today we celebrate with utmost joy the Filipino people's gallant struggle for national liberation and genuine democracy under a united front. Thirty seven years ago on April 24, in the face of the fascist Marcos dictatorship, revolutionary organizations came together to form the National Democratic Front (NDF). Through the years the NDF has proven its commitment in advancing the revolutionary struggle of the Filipino people to overthrow the semi-colonial, semi-feudal system which oppresses, deprives and exploits majority of the masses.

We celebrate today the 37th founding anniversary of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines, a significant occasion for the revolutionary forces, the people, and their allies. The alliance of revolutionary organizations was formed immediately after the imposition of martial law to unite with other forces in fighting the Marcos fascist dictatorship and in striving for a society enjoying national sovereignty, genuine democracy, social justice, progress, and peace. Today, the reactionary ruling system once again faces political turmoil as the incumbent Arroyo regime plans to steal or derail the coming election on May 10 to remain in power.

People's Court of FSMR Finds XSTRATA-SMI Guilty of Plunder and of Destroying the Mountains and Rivers of South Central Mindanao

In an en banc resolution of the People's Court -- FSMR, the multinational mining company Xstrata-SMI has been found guilty for the continuing plunder of our natural resources and is causing irreversible damage to the watersheds and the major river systems in south central Mindanao. While still in their so-called "exploration stage," the company has already caused damage on the fragile ecosystem of the quadriboundary, destroyed mountains and are forcing tribal residents to leave their ancestral lands and find livelihood elsewhere.

The Narciso Antazo Aramil Command (NAAC-NPA-Rizal) deplores the lies being propagated by the leadership of SAF-PNP and Rizal-PNP regarding yesterday's successful ambush of the NPA-Rizal. They tried hard to belittle the effect of the ambush and the capacity of the NPA to launch tactical offensives against government troops considering that it happened in Antipolo City, a city very near Metro Manila.

Alberto Agra, clearing two of the most senior Ampatuan warlords, Gov. Zaldy Ampatuan, Sr. and Akmad Ampatuan, of all criminal charges, including multiple-murder, by doubting their involvement in conspiring to a mass murder, and ordering their removal from the list of suspects.

The New People’s Army unit operating in Rizal Province under Narciso Antazo Aramil Command (NAAC-NPA-Rizal) successfully ambushed this 6:00 in the morning the government troops assigned with the Commando Unit of the PNP Special Action Force (SAF-PNP). The ambush happened in San Jose, Antipolo City, Rizal, a kilometer away from the nearest headquarters of the “Butcher” 16th IB-PA-AFP and several detachments of 59th IB-PA-AFP.

The Sergio Lobina Command of the New People's Army in Eastern Samar today assailed Urbano Barbo or "Pater", a councilor of Balangkayan town in the province, for extorting money from candidates in the election in the name of the revolutionary movement. "The 8th Infantry Division has been spreading lies about the NPA's so-called "permit to campaign" and "permit to win"," said Ka Rubio Manggubat, spokesperson of the Sergio Lobina Command.
